The Women in Sports (WIS) special interest group (SIG) is a special interest group among many within the Association of Applied Sport Psychology. WIS maintains a position that works to promote research and practice within the areas of gender equality in sport, perception of female sport participation, promotion of female sport participation, and promotion of healthy behaviors and body satisfaction (e.g., self-esteem, positive body image, etc.) within adult and youth, female sport participants.
The WIS blog serves as a tool to distribute relevant media, articles, and general news to SIG members and others that are interested in women and sports related issues. The views presented on the blog represent the views of the WIS SIG members and not the Association of Applied Sport Psychology.
